Pretty Pumpkins

Now that we have discussed all sorts of fun ways to carve and decorate your pumpkin with your family, I thought I would share some pretty pumpkins just for mama!

Every year, I make jack-o-lanterns and paint little pumpkins with my children for our front porch. Our front porch is super festive, but our home is usually lacking. I love these ideas of making decorative pumpkins that become fabulous indoor decor.

I’m so excited to try a few of these. And since I won’t be carving into any pumpkins, I can keep these displayed until Thanksgiving. Wouldn’t that pumpkin “vase” be the perfect Thanksgiving centerpiece? So lovely!

Saturated color on the walls is currently trending. A punch of bold color adds so much sophistication while staying super stylish. I love to see the same color painted on the ceiling as well. It’s unexpected and exciting. My favorite is deep blues. I cannot get enough.

Do you have a saturated color on your wall(s)? Would you be willing to give it a try?

Interior Design Made Easy: Mixing Metals

Good news: Mixing metals isn’t a faux pas. In fact, it’s in!TemporaryItemsvia 1 | 2 | 3 | 4

There was a time when mixing gold and nickel was not okay. When every metal in your home had to be the same color and finish. Not anymore. I love that interior decorating rules are being broken and those breaking all the rules, are making beautiful homes.

I love brass and silver in the same space. Together, they look glamorous and gathered with time. Mixing any metals gives this effect, making your home modern and stylish.

I’m seeing mixed metals in bathrooms with brushed nickel faucets and shiny brass chandeliers, kitchens with oil rubbed bronze light fixtures and gold cabinet pulls, living rooms with a silver garden stool and brass picture frames. Anything goes if it’s appealing to your eye, the one making your house a home.

No limits. Mix away.
