DONNY OSMOND TO BE KEYNOTE SPEAKER AT RootsTech

Atlanta GA, Oct 24, 2014

It was announced Wednesday that Donny Osmond will be a keynote speaker at the world’s largest family history conference on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015. Over 9,000 attendees attended the global conference in 2014.

“I’m already looking forward to this exciting event,” Osmond said. “Family and family stories are obviously very important to me. This is a chance to connect to something that is part of who I am.”

“My family and the stories we share are such an important part of my life, so RootsTech is just the perfect place to celebrate that,” Osmond said.

“Donny Osmond is the iconic entertainer that has made home his priority” remarked Deb Wallace, brand manager for Donny Osmond Home. “Donny epitomizes the DOH brand message of “Making Home and Family #1”.

Osmond plans to celebrate five decades in show business by releasing his 60th album, “Soundtrack of My Life,” just prior to the RootsTech 2015 conference. Each track on the album tells a story from his professional or personal life.

The RootsTech conference is hosted by FamilySearch International, a nonprofit organization. The conference celebrates family history through technology.

Meet Jessi Osmond.

JessiA native of Southern California, the sunshine has always meant home to me. And with a little help from my friend SPF 45, this ginger can’t get enough of it ;). Growing up the youngest of 8 kids, I managed to have my own room by the time I was 7 that my mother let me decorate. With the help of my little friend Molly, my walls got painted, my furniture got rearranged and we adorned the space with butcher paper-faux wallpaper trim over and over. I am awed at the patience of my mother who stood by with little intervention and let me express myself.

This love of making a space my own has always uplifted my spirits. I’m sure it caught my husband off guard the first few times he came  home to what he might have thought was a visit from a poltergeist. With furniture rearranged and decor re-hung around the room, he didn’t know what he was in for. But now he’s grown accustomed to the freshening-up of the space every now and then, adding a dab of color here, or a splash of texture there, breathing new life into our newlywed thrift finds and hand-me-downs. He also has the patience like my mother, and knows I’m in a state of zen when I open a new can of paint or fill a new vase with something fresh from the yard.

Almost five years ago, the fate in my stars aligned when I met Don, the oldest of Donny and Debbie’s brood.  I knew I had met my match when he brought me flowers and danced with me under the night sky in a Park City parking lot. Today, with our little Truman in tow, we still take the opportunity to dance in the moonlight whenever we can; although, most of the time it’s in the kitchen with dishes piled high and Tru at our feet, and we like it just the same.

The home has always been my sanctuary; where I refuel.  A place I reconnect with the people that matter most in my world; a place where I find myself.

My personal style is full of juxtaposition, romanticism meets industrial; I love soft, velvety colors and a rustic wooden table; blends of raw textures and polished mantles; my grandmother’s dark tufted chairs, mix-matched tea-cups and our cream clean-lined sofa;  simple, white-washed  wainscoting and eclectic elements that bring together history and culture.  I like our space to reflect where we’ve been and where our dreams may take us. I’m also a sucker for saving a buck. I love the challenge of seeing potential in something (or someone) that others have overlooked. Some of my greatest gems have come from unexpected places.

And the greatest gem of all?  My little Truman and his big. hazel. eyes.  I get to experience the world like a child through those saucers, and see all of its magic and beauty.  My little family of three inspires me in new ways each and every day.

Spooktacular Table Setting

Throwing a Halloween dinner party? We put together this spooky table setting to get eerily festive. And we did it on a budget! I shopped my home, thrift stores, and even the dollar store!

Remember to layer with texture to really bring your design up a notch. I used fabric, dollar store spider webs and faux leaves, branches gathered from outdoors, wood bowls, fun placemats, and faux sheepskin around a couple chairs to make a cohesive look.

Have fun!

Meet Melisa Osmond.

Hi!! My name is Melisa. Im Donny and Debbie’s daughter in law. I’m married to Jeremy and we have 3 beautiful children.  We proudly made Donny and Debbie grandparents with their first grandchild Dylan who is now nine.  The first princess granddaughter, our Emy who is six, and our sweet baby Ryder (1).  I grew up on the beach on the Panhandle of Florida. Jeremy and I have been married for almost 12 years this November. We met and fell in love while I was working for Sony Pictures Studios on the Donny and Marie Talk show in 2000. It’s my favorite story to tell, and I still get giddy and butterfly’s when I get to share the how we met story. I continued to work in television on different shows and studios. After we were married, we moved from LA to Utah for Jeremy to continue his education at the University of Utah. He is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and is a Director of Rehab at an Acute Rehab Hospital. We recently designed and built our home in Utah. We have a waterfront and mountain view property. It’s perfect for us because the waterfront views of the Lake remind me of home and it’s right on the benches of the mountains for Jeremy.
We spent last year designing and picking out every piece of our house. My style is very traditional, a little modern, and eclectic. I love white, light, bright, fresh and new. When designing our home I had a beach house style in mind. I love home design and never miss a model home tour or Parade of homes.
Our kids keep us very busy between, 3rd grade,1st grade, teething, nap time, football, gymnastics, cub Scouts, piano, and being taxi mom, I try to work on decorating our new home. I’m a busy mama always on the go!!
I’m excited to share with you little glimpses of decorating ideas with the Donny Osmond Home line. It is amazing and I love it all and I know you will too. Enjoy and it’s a pleasure to share with you all the fun pieces of the home line!!

Meet Shelby Osmond.

_MG_2819-2Hello! I’m Shelby and I am married to the love of my life; Donny and Debbie’s third son, Brandon. We have two sweet little boys, Daxton and Tayte and we are expecting another baby really soon! I thought it would be fun to do a top 5 about myself to give more background about me.

1. I love my family: my husband and my boys… If I could stop there I would. But really they fill my soul with almost everything that it needs.

2. One of the things I love in our home is having a unique, raw look. I love to have that clean, crisp white look but when you add some raw wood and some plants its adds a whole new dimension for me.

3. Recently I’ve really loved learning about health. I’m learning to love to cook healthy meals and figure out what works for our family.

4. Telling a story through photography is a big passion for me. I recently have dabbled into videography and now I am gaining an even bigger passion for all things photography/vidoegraphy related.

5. And fun fact about us, we aren’t finding out the gender of our baby and I couldn’t be more excited for the moment that we get to find out!

Hi, this is Debbie. I’m married to this guy named Donny. You may have heard of him.

I was a cheerleader at Provo High when I was 15 years old and that’s how we met. We are coming up on 37 years of marriage!  It’s so hard to believe it’s been that many years. What a wonderful journey it has been for our family and also one filled with a bit of craziness in the world of show business.  That’s why I’ve always tried to make our home a place of refuge and peace. I love a home that’s simple and inviting. I’ve always wanted it to be a place for our children to bring their friends and for our grandchildren to come and have fun.

Interior design has been a passion of mine ever since I was in college. Donny Osmond Home gives me the chance to fulfill that dream and have the opportunity to share it with you.

On this blog page, you get to take a little peek into how we use our products to make our house a home. You’ll also get a chance to see how my sweet daughter’s-in-law use the products in their homes. We all are looking forward to continue posting pictures every month of some of our favorite items. We hope you enjoy these pictures but above all, we hope you enjoy making your house a home with Donny Osmond Home.
